AI Job Search: Tool for Customized Applications

AI Job Search, an innovative application tool utilizing the AI assistant Claude, has recently gained a lot of attention on GitHub. On October 20, the tool received nearly 3,900 new stars in a single day, bringing its total star count to over 58,000. Mads Lorentzen, the Danish creator of the tool, developed it after his own dismissal and has since built a successful career as an AI engineer thanks to the tool. In the new version 1.7.3, released on October 19, improvements have been made in terms of security.

AI Job Search allows users to efficiently generate tailored resumes and cover letters. This tool works with simple commands within Claude Code, where users input their profile in a one-time setup. The tool can then scan job vacancies, assess them, and automatically generate relevant documents such as resumes and cover letters. This process is further optimized by a second AI agent that provides feedback on the documents before they are revised and presented in a readable format.

The popularity of AI Job Search coincides with the growing acceptance of AI within the application process in the Netherlands. Research shows that more than 10% of the workforce uses AI tools while looking for job vacancies. Additionally, two-thirds of employees report using AI during their applications. Employers are also noticing this trend, with 70% reporting that the use of AI slows down the recruitment processes. This has led to discussions about the role of AI in job interviews, where some candidates discreetly utilize AI tools.

For users looking to benefit from AI Job Search, it is important to note that the tool is free but requires a paid subscription to Claude or access to the Anthropic API. Additionally, there are some technical requirements, such as using Python and LaTeX. When using the tool, users must also consider their privacy, as personal data is stored during the setup. The recent update has therefore introduced new safety measures to ensure user privacy.
