Tesla renames FSD to Assisted Driving
Tesla has announced that the Full Self Driving (FSD) feature will henceforth be called "Tesla Assisted Driving" in the Netherlands. This name change has been approved by the RDW, the Dutch authority responsible for vehicle registration and inspection. This development marks an important step in positioning Tesla's self-driving technology and is intended to provide more clarity for users and consumers.
In addition to the name change, changes have also been made regarding the speed limits within the system. Tesla has decided to revise the speed of the active driving aids, which could contribute to a safer driving experience for users. The adjustment of speed limits is a response to feedback from users and safety authorities, who have considered the effectiveness of the technology and its impact on traffic.
These changes are part of Tesla's broader strategy to promote the acceptance of its technology while also complying with regulations and expectations from authorities. By making the function more understandable with a new name and adjustments in use, Tesla hopes to attract new customers and strengthen its position in the market. It is a clear indication that the company is focusing on both innovation and compliance.
At a time when self-driving technology is becoming an increasingly significant part of the mobility sector, such adjustments are crucial. Tesla’s name change and revision of speed limits may encourage other manufacturers and institutions to consider similar measures, contributing to safer and more regulated use of autonomous vehicles.
