CapCut plugin for ChatGPT enables video editing

CapCut plugin for ChatGPT enables video editing

CapCut has recently announced an innovative plugin for ChatGPT that allows users to create and edit videos within a conversation. The process starts with an idea in ChatGPT, after which the user can further develop the first version of the video in CapCut's web editor. However, a concrete release date has not yet been announced.

The announcement took place during the CapCutWorldLA event, where CapCut emphasized that this integration should significantly simplify the steps between a concept and a publishable video. With the plugin, users can utilize CapCut's video editing and generation features directly from the conversation, leading to increased efficiency in the creation process.

The plugin makes it possible to develop, for example, a short introductory video for a product, or a concept for a social media post. The specific editing features that will be available at launch have not yet been disclosed by CapCut, and it remains unclear to what extent users will have control over elements such as editing, subtitles, and sound within ChatGPT.

After generating an initial video within ChatGPT, CapCut directs users to their web editor for further adjustments and publication. This gives content creators the opportunity to develop their ideas, texts, and initial video versions within one environment, and then refine them in a specialized editor. When the plugin will actually be available remains unclear, and CapCut has not shared any details about supported countries or potential costs.

For Dutch users, this means waiting before the integration becomes available. Nevertheless, the process is clear: it starts in ChatGPT, after which an initial video can be created with CapCut, which can then be further edited in the CapCut web editor.
