AI Services for Cities with NVIDIA's Physical and Agentic AI
Cities generate vast amounts of data through cameras, sensors, and operational systems. However, turning this data into actionable insights for planning, maintenance, and public services is a challenge. NVIDIA's physical and agentic AI provide new opportunities to bridge this gap. This is done through digital twins for infrastructure planning and vision agents, where local governments retain control over processing and utilizing sensitive data.
NVIDIA and its partners are expanding their physical AI and AI agents to cities around the world. A shared computing capacity enables city departments and local developers to collaboratively extend services without each organization needing to acquire or manage its own resources. This facilitates the implementation of AI solutions without significant infrastructure investments.
In several cities, including Madrid and Wrocław, resident services and vision agents are already integrated into urban processes. Examples include collaboration with 1MillionBot in Spain, which uses open-source ALIA models to streamline municipal procedures, and the use of NVIDIA's Cosmos and Metropolis libraries in San Francisco for an interactive AI experience in public spaces. These technologies not only help improve service delivery to residents but also assist in identifying mobility and safety issues.
Additionally, digital twin technology allows cities to accelerate infrastructure planning and conduct operational simulations for better decision-making. Pilot projects in Nigeria and Taiwan demonstrate how digital twins are applied to enhance process efficiency and quickly analyze the environmental impact of urban planning. Through these innovative technologies, cities can expand their AI ecosystems, making more services accessible to residents and businesses.
