Google introduces Gemini 4 Argon for global use
On October 13, 2026, Google announced that Gemini 4 Argon is globally available for consumers, developers, and businesses. This AI model is designed to perform complex tasks such as programming, financial analyses, and scientific research. Pro and Ultra subscribers can use the model through the Gemini app and the AI Mode in Google Search.
The new top model, presented as a major step forward in AI technology, offers improvements in reasoning, image understanding, and writing tasks. Google showcases examples where teams have applied the model, highlighting the versatility and effectiveness of Argon.
For consumers, Argon is accessible in the Gemini app and the AI mode in Google Search, provided they have a Pro or Ultra subscription. For developers and businesses, it is possible to integrate Argon via an API in AI Studio and the Gemini platform, allowing them to implement the AI model in their own software. The introductory rates for using Argon are $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with significant discounts for reusing stored input.
Argon stands out for its ability to optimize large amounts of code, as illustrated by the example of the Chrome team, where restructuring hundreds of files was completed in weeks. Additionally, Argon is used in scientific research to increase the speed of software for molecular structure prediction by up to 2.3 times. The model provides direct answers, fewer repetitions, and follows written instructions better than earlier versions in the Gemini series. Google notes that Argon ranks at the top of the Vals Index, an assessment system for AI performance in various complex tasks.
