Grok Bot can now search, read, and follow X
Grok Bot, the AI assistant developed by Elon Musk's company SpaceXAI, has recently expanded its functionalities. The bot can now search X by itself, read posts, and follow certain topics, without users needing to link their X accounts. This notable announcement on October 7, 2026 quickly went viral and attracted the attention of platforms such as Digg and Crypto Briefing.
The Grok Bot provides users with the ability to ask what people are saying about specific products, keep track of news stories, or generate weekly industry overviews. According to Crypto Briefing, the bot can analyze over a hundred posts per request, significantly enriching the user experience. This comes shortly after the announcement that paying users receive free credits for the X API.
It is important to note that Grok Bot cannot post messages; a link to a private account is still required for that. Additionally, SpaceXAI has not provided specifications on the limits of the bot’s free usage. Grok Bot is also not free; users must subscribe, such as to SuperGrok or Cursor Pro, to utilize the AI assistant available 24/7.
These developments underscore a broader trend where platforms like X increasingly function as data sources for AI systems, enhancing the potential of AI in the Netherlands. A significant majority of Dutch people use AI tools, with Eurostat reporting 44.7% in 2025. For companies, this presents an opportunity to monitor online conversations around their brand more effectively and respond more efficiently without manually sifting through hundreds of posts.
