Grok Bot update: three times faster and new features
Grok Bot has received a significant update, allowing the AI assistant to perform its computing tasks an average of three times faster than before. This was announced on October 16. The new version also introduces access to X Chat, expands app integrations, and enhances the functionalities for the bot's own email address. The aesthetic changes are clearly visible, with the cards in the conversations now featuring a clearer design, more legible fonts, and updated themes.
One of the most notable improvements is the speed. Grok Bot claims that computing tasks can be completed in a fraction of the time, with other responses now being delivered in less than half the previous response time. However, no detailed tests were presented, meaning that the actual time savings per task may vary. The quality and reliability of voice conversations have also improved, and previous conversations are better remembered. Notifications now only appear on the device being used, promising a tighter user experience.
A new feature of Grok Bot is the ability to process messages from X Chat as soon as a user has linked their X account. This allows users to ask the assistant to handle specific conversations. Additionally, support for 'plus aliases' has been added to Grok Bot's own email address, enabling users to trigger a recurring task for emails sent to a specific address, such as invoices. This provides a more targeted approach to handling routine tasks.
Furthermore, new integrations are available with various business applications, including Trello, PostHog, and beehiiv, as well as popular platforms like Robinhood, Coinbase, and eToro. The announcement did not include specific details about the availability of features per service. The combination of faster processing, centralization of messages, and focus on automating tasks makes this update particularly valuable for daily users of Grok Bot.
