Hang Ten Systems raises 53 million dollars

Hang Ten Systems, the AI startup founded by former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka, has completed a funding round of 53 million dollars on September 16, bringing the total funding to 85 million dollars. This recent round follows an initial seed round of 32 million dollars and allows the company to focus more on large enterprises. Hang Ten Systems has signed multiple multi-million contracts in a short time, sparking interest from investors, including Temasek and Mayfield.

The investment of 53 million dollars, led by Xora, provides the startup with the opportunity to expand its engineering, consulting, and sales teams, with an emphasis on recruitment in Europe and India. Hang Ten targets enterprises with annual revenues exceeding 10 billion dollars and offers advice on AI strategies and software modernization. Sikka emphasizes that the speed at which contracts are signed is remarkable for the business, with some deals inked within a month of the initial conversation.

Unlike other AI companies, Hang Ten is not focused on developing new AI models but adapts the technology for the complex software development processes of large organizations. Using the internal framework, Hobie, allows the company to operate significantly more efficiently and deliver production-ready software with much smaller teams. This optimizes costs and time, aligning with Sikka's vision for the future of software development.

With increasing competition from traditional system integrators and AI model builders like OpenAI and Anthropic, Hang Ten aims to continue strengthening its position in the market. Sikka expects there will always be a need for independent partners that focus solely on their clients' interests. Hang Ten intends to achieve further growth by developing new projects and challenging existing suppliers in their quest for greater efficiency.
