European Financial Institutions Shift to Open Models

During GTC Berlin, banks, payment companies, and financial data providers showcase what production-scale intelligence looks like, built on NVIDIA accelerated computing, powered by open-weight models and running on their own infrastructure. For example, Revolut is rebuilding its technology stack on the foundation model PRAGMA. Developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, this allows Revolut to scale its production for an initial customer base of 80 million, with an expected scaling increase of 3x.

Pavel Nesterov, Head of AI at Revolut, notes that the opportunity to process billion-dollar transactions has always been present, but whether the foundation models could function at this scale was the big question. PRAGMA does not offer a solution, but is also proof that the gap between research and a production banking system can be bridged.
