Meta sees Muse 3.4 million downloads: app reaches top of the App Store
Meta recently heavily promoted the launch of Muse, its new AI app, during the developer conference Meta Connect. With a number of new features and strategic marketing efforts, the app seems to be gaining traction in the United States and Canada. According to market data, particularly from Sensor Tower, the app has now surpassed 3.4 million downloads. Some analysts even estimate the figures to be higher. The popularity of Muse is due to both effective promotion and positive early reviews.
Since its launch on September 8, Muse's growth has been impressive. The app had already reached 2.5 million downloads at the beginning of the week, and the latest estimates indicate more than 3.4 million. Competitors like Apptopia and Appfigures provide alternative estimates; Apptopia even counts 4.3 million downloads, while Appfigures estimates the number at around 2.3 million. The strong growth is explained not only by organic downloads but also by targeted ads on Meta's own platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
The growth figures are remarkable when compared to other popular AI applications. Sensor Tower reports that Muse managed to acquire no less than 2.8 million downloads in the first two weeks after launch, with an average day-over-day growth of 55 percent. In comparison, ChatGPT, one of the most well-known AI applications, saw an average growth of 24 percent per day in the initial days after launch. This rapid growth enabled Muse to reach the number one spot in the US App Store on September 18, and it has maintained that position to this day.
In addition to strong performance in the app stores, Meta also looked beyond its own platforms for the promotion of Muse. The app can be found on other networks such as TikTok and YouTube, with ads for Muse accounting for 6 percent of all ad impressions since launch. The combination of innovative features and a thoughtful marketing strategy has quickly made Muse a defining player in the AI app market.
