North Brabant invests €4 million in AI supercomputer

On September 23, TU/e, Tilburg University, the province of North Brabant, and the Brabant Development Agency will launch the Supercomputing Brabant initiative. This project aims to provide AI computing power, expertise, and support to companies, researchers, and public institutions in the region. The province has invested €4 million to lower the threshold for large-scale AI applications and to build a strong and future-proof AI ecosystem.

The AI supercomputer is based on the advanced NVIDIA technology platform, the DGX B300, and is characterized as one of the most advanced AI computing facilities in the Netherlands. Supercomputing Brabant aims to collaborate with other AI computing centers in Europe, providing additional computing capacity for participants. In addition to computing power, the initiative offers expertise and support, contributing to the development of innovative AI solutions.

A team of six experts is responsible for collaborating with participating companies and knowledge institutions. They focus on the development of new AI models with an emphasis on creating solutions and new revenue streams. Preliminary results from the initial projects indicate a significant improvement; the training time of AI models has been reduced by 60 percent. This not only boosts efficiency but also strengthens the competitive position of the involved organizations in the rapidly evolving AI market.
