NVIDIA Expands Access to Advanced Technology for Research

NVIDIA's recent announcement at the AI in Science Summit in Dublin marks an important step in collaboration with the European Commission to support the scientific community in Europe. The new initiative, AI in Science Enablers, aims to provide scientists, especially in smaller laboratories and startups, with the necessary tools and computing resources to make scientific progress. This includes extensive collaboration with the RAISE initiative, which connects private sector support with European research activities.

NVIDIA provides access to advanced tools, models, and platforms, as well as cloud resources, scientific data, and training. This includes over 250 open models and datasets, as well as 1,400 open-source software projects. These open models are accessible via platforms such as Hugging Face and GitHub, and are designed to accelerate computing power across various research fields, from climate science to materials science.

To promote skill development, the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute has launched a new hub for open-source course materials. These course materials are available for free and are designed for a wide range of applications, including university curricula and boot camps for supercomputing centers. This provides a valuable opportunity for researchers and students to develop expertise in accelerated computing and deep learning.

Additionally, NVIDIA is collaborating with cloud infrastructure partners and national AI factories in Europe, facilitating access to computing and services for startups and SMEs. The NVIDIA Inception program offers technical support and computing resources to startups, lowering the entry barrier for technological education and infrastructure. Through collaborations and initiatives in countries such as France, Spain, and Sweden, NVIDIA is involved in building a solid foundation for AI initiatives in Europe. This also includes free access to GPU infrastructure for academics and startups through EuroHPC supercomputing centers, promoting open research.

Finally, NVIDIA has revealed plans for the largest expansion of AI infrastructure in Europe to date, with the construction of 35 supercomputers. These systems will provide over 3 million researchers with next-generation infrastructure, significantly accelerating discovery across various domains.
