NVIDIA and Microsoft Launch RTX Spark for Windows PCs

During a Microsoft event in San Francisco, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, and Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, announced that the two companies are collaborating on hardware and software for AI agents that can run on Windows PCs. Huang reflected on the long-standing history of NVIDIA and its relationship with Windows, emphasizing that the development of GeForce would have been unthinkable without Windows. The collaboration marks a new era where AI agents play a central role as personal assistants on computers.

The event, led by Sriram Krishnan, provided a platform for the announcement of Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC). This new OS infrastructure allows agents to run safely in the background, under the control of the operating system. Pavan Davuluri, EVP at Microsoft, highlighted the focus on creating a secure environment for these agents, which is essential for future development within the IT sector. Huang emphasized that this infrastructure will be comparable to the revolution that Windows and DirectX brought to application development.

Part of the announcements is the introduction of RTX Spark, which makes NVIDIA's AI stack available for Windows laptops and compact desktops. Pre-orders for RTX Spark laptops have opened today, with an expected delivery date of October 16. These innovations enable developers to run more advanced models locally on their PCs, without relying on cloud solutions, increasing the accessibility of AI technology.

Additionally, the NVIDIA DGX Station for Windows was presented, the first AI supercomputer that operates directly within the Windows ecosystem. This development enables companies to run advanced AI models locally, saving time and resources for developers who traditionally had to switch between different environments. The new NVIDIA hardware and integration with Windows promise significant progress for IT professionals and companies looking to innovate with AI solutions.
