NVIDIA Open Models Progress in the Public Sector
Governments face the challenge of implementing modern solutions that enhance public service delivery while maintaining control over sensitive information. Open models provide a valuable approach, allowing governments to evaluate these models, adapt them to local languages and services, and operate them on infrastructure they manage themselves. Additionally, they can apply their own security measures and keep sensitive data within controlled environments. By publishing datasets used for training, governments can also verify that this data is accurate, impartial, and compliant.
NVIDIA collaborates with European governments to introduce advanced models that enhance the efficiency of public administration without losing control over data and infrastructure. Editions of the NVIDIA Nemotron-Personas collection are being developed in various countries, contributing to NVIDIA’s open-source library for user simulation. The goal is to effectively integrate local languages and cultures into the models and systems used in public services.
In Germany, Materna is developing Sinfonie, a platform that combines generative AI and voice interaction. This tool helps officials access institutional knowledge through spoken queries while keeping sensitive data on their own infrastructure. Collaborations have also been established in France to contribute to digital services for more than 2,500 organizations, providing access to resources without the need for a formal procurement process.
Moreover, NVIDIA, in collaboration with startups and software providers, supports innovative initiatives like the Open Models Codefest. This event aims to integrate agentic AI and open models into solutions for public sector challenges, promoting the breakthrough of AI applications in the public sphere across various fields. Through this, NVIDIA demonstrates its crucial role in the transition to a more advanced and data-driven public sector in Europe.
