OpenAI expands ChatGPT Ads: new for advertisers

OpenAI has expanded the features for ChatGPT Ads, allowing advertisers to create product campaigns in bulk and gain better insights into conversion results. These updates are specifically designed to simplify the management of larger numbers of campaigns, according to OpenAI's product update. In addition to the new features, the platform is expanding its reach to seven additional Asian markets, including Indonesia and Singapore.

A significant change is the ability for advertisers to create multiple product feed campaigns and ad groups simultaneously via a spreadsheet. By using the Ads Manager, ad templates can be automatically generated. This feature can be found under Campaigns → Bulk uploads and saves manual work, especially for webshops with a large number of products. Furthermore, advertisers can now track the review status of their products, providing more insight into the approval processes.

Additionally, OpenAI is introducing the public Insights API, allowing advertisers to query conversions that do not fall within the chosen campaign goals. This makes it possible to report conversions without changing the campaign goals and optimization settings. OpenAI also offers the ability to manage internal account names, brand names, and company names separately, meaning that adjustments to these names can have different effects on ad approvals.

The expansion of ChatGPT Ads to seven new markets in Asia increases the reach of the advertising platform and provides new opportunities for businesses in these regions. For Dutch companies, ChatGPT Ads is now also available, and they can make use of the self-service Ads Manager. However, the current adoption rate in the Netherlands remains unclear, as OpenAI has not released specific figures regarding the Dutch market. This leaves the effectiveness of the platform for Dutch advertisers still uncertain, which will have to become apparent through practical experiences.
