Prosus appoints Ronald Hans as chief product officer

Prosus recently presented a new leadership team for AI, technology, and product development. Ronald Hans, founder of WeTransfer, has been appointed as chief product officer. Euro Beinat and Paul van der Boor will take on the roles of chief AI officer and chief technology officer, respectively. This new team aims to transform Prosus's internal data and intelligence layer into new products and services, with a particular focus on making the AI platform Toqan accessible for clients without technical knowledge.

With these steps, Prosus aims to significantly increase revenue from its technology and data. CEO Fabricio Bloisi emphasizes that he expects the company to go to market as quickly as a start-up and learn at least ten times faster. This is not only a strategic shift but also underscores Prosus's intention to monetize technology and data, rather than merely acting as an investor.

Prosus, known for brands such as Thuisbezorgd, OLX, and PayU, has a wealth of e-commerce data from approximately one billion online consumers. This data has led to the development of the AI system Toqan, which was originally for internal use and is now being made available externally. This shows that the company has the ambition to become more than just an investor and is seriously committed to product development.

In addition to the new appointments in the leadership team, Prosus is also exploring investments in robotics and technology, as highlighted in the Prosus Ventures Robotics Report. This report emphasizes the focus on robots, based on research into 85 companies in that sector. Ronald Hans has also recently launched Boomerang, a new service for sending email newsletters, a sign of his innovative approach.
