Russia aims for space cooperation with BRICS
Russia plans to establish a new space council together with the other BRICS countries. This collaboration is aimed at promoting joint efforts in space and exchanging technological knowledge. The primary goal of establishing this council is to share satellite data, which could lead to improved accuracy in data analysis and monitoring of both terrestrial and astronomical phenomena.
An important aspect of the collaboration is the possibility of joint space missions. By combining efforts, the BRICS countries can conduct more efficient and cost-effective missions. This is especially relevant for countries with limited resources, which might otherwise struggle to compete in the field of space technology and development.
Another essential component of the plans includes collaboration in utilizing each other's satellite networks. This will not only improve the operational efficiency of these networks but also increase the capacity to offer various services, such as advanced communication services and Earth observation. The integration of these networks could also yield synergistic benefits in the context of emergency aid and crisis management.
If the cooperation between Russia and the other BRICS countries takes concrete form, it could have a significant impact on the global space sector. It offers opportunities for new partnerships and strengthens the position of the BRICS countries in an increasingly competitive space arena, in which traditional space powers such as the U.S. and the EU also seek to expand their influence.
