Formula for Better AI Responses
An effective AI response starts with the basics: a clear prompt. To achieve the desired results, it is essential to specify what you are looking for in advance, what background information is relevant, and in what format you want to receive the output. The proposed formula consists of six steps that you can apply as needed to optimize communication with AI.
The first step is to define the task. This means starting with a clear verb, such as writing or analyzing, linked to a specific topic. A request like “Help me with home batteries” can be clarified to “Write an article about the pros and cons of home batteries.” It is also helpful to list the desired actions separately for more complex requests, ensuring that there is no ambiguity about the expectations.
The second and third steps focus on providing context and examples that help the AI understand the expectation. It is crucial to indicate for whom the answer is intended and what it will be used for. Additionally, a concrete example helps clarify what you have in mind. This makes it clear what structure, tone, and style you want in the final response.
Next, it is important to assign a role to the AI so that it can fulfill the task from an appropriate perspective. You also need to determine the desired formatting and structure that enhance the use of the response. Finally, you should choose the right tone, taking into account the target audience and the purpose of the text. It may be useful not to use all steps but to start with a clear task and relevant context. This provides a solid foundation for improvement in interaction with AI.
